Join the Plastic Free Sea Day of Action to clean up the Yarra in Eastern Metropolitan
Are you ready to take action to reduce plastic pollution?
Every Victorian wants our beautiful natural rivers, oceans and waterways to be clean and healthy. The Yarra River is home to many incredible species (like the platypus!) and we need to keep it that way.
Unfortunately, plastic infests the Yarra, clogging it with pollution and damaging the ecosystem with a toxic product that never goes away.
Events are being held throughout Eastern Metro:
Mont Albert (11:30am - 1:30pm): Koonung Wetlands - Meet at the end of Jackson Ave, Mont Albert
Warrandyte (11:30am - 1:30pm): Pound Bend Reserve - Meet in the car park, Pound Bend Rd, Warrandyte
Heidelberg (1pm - 3pm): Heidelberg Park - Meet in the car park, Burgundy St & Beverley Rd, Heidelberg
We can each do our part to reduce plastic pollution - let's start with the Yarra River and the beautiful creeks around Eastern Metro on July 29!
Your Greens MPs are working hard to ban plastic bags and microbeads, with Nina Springle MLC set to introduce a private members bill into the Victorian Parliament. You can read more about the Bill and issue here.
In the meantime, let's spend some time down by the Yarra to help keep it plastic free during #PlasticFreeJuly.
Looking forward to seeing you there!
