Upcoming events

This page lists our upcoming events across Victoria, including training sessions, field actions, social events and many more.

Our events are open to everyone, newcomers and seasoned campaigners alike - so please feel free to bring your friends, family and colleagues. Greens campaigns are run on people-power, and we could not do it without the support of people like you.

In order to receive more detailed event information, please make sure to RSVP. It will also help our event organisers prepare for the correct number of participants.

    Gardiners Creek Walk

Gary Presland will be our guide for the Gardiners Creek Walk hosted by the Whitehorse Greens.

The walk will begin and end at the Bennettswood Bowling Club carpark. Gary has taken groups on this walk before and they have proven to be very informative and very popular which is why we’ve asked him to take this one in 2017. He will speak about the natural history of the area and the use of the surrounding environments by Indigenous people.

    Bird Walk For Beginners

    greensBirdwalk.jpg

Try a fun hobby that you can do anywhere with minimal equipment or expense!  Join experienced Wildlife Guide Janine Duffy on a Bird Walk for Beginners at Westgate Park in Port Melbourne.

This morning walk is suitable for anyone with an interest in nature.  If you don’t know what a magpie is, this will be fun.  If you can tell a Long-billed Corella from a Little Corella, this will be fun.  Kids are very welcome!

Janine has had fun birdwatching all around the world with people of every level – from teenagers who’ve never used binoculars, to super-keen birders who’ve seen 6,000+ species.  She believes birdwatching should be relaxing, non-competitive and never intimidating.

This special event is a being run as a fundraiser for the Port Phillip Greens to support the election campaign of Steph Hodgins-May, candidate for the federal government seat of Melbourne Ports.  It will be a great chance to meet like-minded people dedicated to preserving our environment.

Afterwards join us for a fun make-your-own pizza lunch (included). Gluten-free and vegetarian options available.

    Derek's house in Bayside, Australia

    Bayside-Glen Eira Greens Branch Dinner

Earlier in the year we had a successful series of branch dinners. We enjoyed some who shared a dish, and others who shared their conversation. With a mix of the interesting who share a passion for progressive political outcomes, I hope you can join us for a vegetarian meal with friends in kind at Derek's house, in Cheltenham.

This is a casual event with opportunities to talk to your fellow Greens members. Derek's place has wonderful space and light, you would be welcome to bring a guest to join in the discussion.

Looking forward to you joining us.

Sarah's House in East Geelong, Australia

Geelong Sunday Door Knock in East Geelong

Geelong City Council elections will be held this October and we have the best chance ever of electing a Green. This will allow us to implement Green policies at a local level and create a healthy and inclusive community.

We know the best way reach voters and convince them to support us is through one on one conversations. Spending two hours speaking to voters will make the difference we need to win in Geelong this year.

    Will you join us?
