Sometimes we need to take a step back from the political hurly-burly and take stock.
This workshop is a chance for members to discuss the future shape of our Party. How do you think we should organise ourselves over the next decade as we can work together to achieve our shared purpose?
All members of the Victorian Greens are invited to join in this workshop or the one being held on 3 April 2020.
Why are we talking about this?
In 2020 we commissioned a wholistic review of our Party called the 'futures project', which found that as members we generally share a strong sense of purpose, are happy with the work of our elected representatives, but are concerned that our governance current structures don't serve us well.
The review recommended "that the Party move quickly to develop and build consensus for a more streamlined, democratic and effective governance structure, with a special focus on reforming/restructuring the governing bodies of the AGV".
We're now working to implement that recommendation, and having gathered ideas through a general call for submission, we're now at the second step in the following timeline:
