Intro to Facilitation Skills #1

The Victorian Greens has teamed up with the Groupwork Centre to provide members with a series of training sessions in Facilitation and Consensus Decision Making.  

The complete set of four training modules usually costs hundreds of dollars per participant but is being offered at no cost to leaders and potential leaders in the Greens. 

Intro to Facilitation Skills 1 is the first module*.  Core topics are:

• How to formulate and maintain Group Agreements
• The role of the facilitator
• Principles
• Key Micro-skills for facilitation

Module outcomes include:

• How to keep focus on both “task” and “maintenance” aspects of group work
• The importance of self-awareness and the knowledge of triggers – our own and others – and how to manage these in groups
• An understanding of the complexities at play in groups and how these are managed

NOTE: This training is offered in two parts Modules 1 & 2 cover foundational skills for facilitation and Modules 3 & 4 are deeper dives into practice as
facilitators and collaborators.  Modules 1&2 are prerequisites for more advanced modules and consensus decision making.   

This module will be delivered via Zoom.  Participants will need to log in from a laptop or computer with audio-visual capabilities.  Please inform us by email if you have any special accessibility needs.
