Intro to Facilitation Skills #3

The Victorian Greens has teamed up with the Groupwork Centre to provide members with a series of training sessions in Facilitation and Consensus Decision Making.

The complete set of four training modules usually costs hundreds of dollars per participant but is being offered at no cost to leaders and potential leaders in the Greens.

Intro to Facilitation Skills 3 is the third module*.  Core topics are:

  • Introduction to Emotional Resilience
  • Group dynamics and the role of the unconscious in work teams
  • Dealing with the challenging aspects of facilitation
  • Understanding the complexity of facilitation
  • Dealing with challenging encounters
  • Self-care

Module outcomes include:

  • Being authentic, open and transparent as a facilitator – vital to engender an environment of trust and safety
  • Effective use of core skills relevant to facilitation
  • Helping others to communicate well in group settings
  • Facilitation of groups with greater engagement and support for the decisions the group arrives at

NOTE: This training is offered in two parts Modules 1 & 2 cover foundational skills for facilitation and Modules 3 & 4 are deeper dives into practice as
facilitators and collaborators.  Facilitation Skills #1 & #2 have already been offered and this session is only available to those Greens members who undertook those sessions in 2020-21.  Modules 1&2 are prerequisites for more advanced modules and consensus decision making.

This module will be delivered via Zoom.  Participants will need to log in from a laptop or computer with audio-visual capabilities.  Please inform us by email if you have any special accessibility needs.
