This is it. We are in a global race against time on climate change. We’re seeing its effects all around us: severe drought, more intense and longer bushfire seasons and rising sea levels.
Action on climate change has been held back by a decade of Liberal and Labor governments beholden to the donations and lobbying of big mining and resource corporations, and the climate change-denying politicians in their own ranks.
So, on September 20, three days before the UN Emergency Climate Summit, school students are inviting everyone to join together for their biggest ever global #ClimateStrike.
By taking time off school and work together around the world, we’ll show our politicians that people everywhere want climate justice and we’re not going away until we get it.
We’ll strike in solidarity for everyone who’s already being hurt by the climate crisis and everyone who will be most impacted if we don’t act now: workers, first nations people, young people, coastal and farming communities, and for our future generations.
We hope to see you at the Bairnsdale strike on September 20th.
