Dark Waters  (rated M, for mature audiences) is a thrilling drama, based on a true story. The movie was released in 2019 and has scored 4 ½ out of 5 stars since then!  It’s only just been released in Australia.

An American lawyer (played by Mark Ruffalo – highly awarded actor and producer) uncovers a dark secret which connects a growing number of unexplained deaths to one of the world's largest corporations, Du Pont, a chemical company.
He takes on an environmental lawsuit against this company, exposing a lengthy history of pollution. While trying to expose the truth, the lawyer finds himself risking his future, his family and his own life.

It’s a 2 hour thriller, based on an 2016 article published in the New York Times magazine: "The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare" by Nathaniel Rich.

Here’s  some reviews:

  • Dark Waters feels starker and truer than most; it's patient, unafraid, and stripped of any kind of hollow self-congratulations.
    source: the Wall Street journal

  • Dark Waters powerfully relays a real-life tale of infuriating malfeasance, honouring the victims and laying blame squarely at the feet of the perpetrators. Audience score: 95%  (2,622 viewers)
     source: Rotten Tomatoes

  • “…entirely impossible …. to leave without a palpable sense of fury, a real world, off-screen outrage directed not just at a particular issue but at a particular company.
    source: Ben Lee, The Guardian

  • If you liked “Erin Brockovich,” you’ll probably like this too.

Hope to see you there.  Bring a friend too
