Hello friend of Port Phillip/Nairm!
As you may know, Port Phillip council are currently having discussions around the Council Plan for the next four years. Problem is, despite the best efforts of our Greens Councillors, Council has no plan to achieve zero community carbon emissions by 2030.
Without a plan, PP council will be heading towards four long years of climate inaction. This is not in our interests. Make your voice heard.
Council is the level of government closest to the community, and should be concerned about community demands. Action on climate change is vital across all levels of government. Much can be achieved, with proper will, at a local level. Let your Councillors know what you would like them to be doing for us.
Spread the word and invite those who would also be keen to participate.
We will go through how we best do this via two facilitated zoom sessions. We strongly encourage you attend both sessions to maximise the campaign’s impact.
RSVP required. Zoom details will be emailed to you before each event.
We acknowledge that events in Port Phillip/Nairm take place on the land of the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
Nairm, refers to Port Phillip Bay and all the area around.
