Leadership for office bearers

This training is for 2015 - 2016 Australian Greens Victoria office bearers.

Our office bearers run our party, ensure members can get involved and provide governance to our party and our campaigns. This leadership weekend will give you the skills and knowledge to carry out your role effectively.

Your trainers

Larissa Brown

Larissa is the State Director at the Victorian Greens.  Larissa founded, and for seven years led, the Centre for Sustainability Leadership.

James Searle

James was the State Convenor 2014-15, is the Secretary of the Yarra branch and contributes to many working groups. He has stood as a candidate numerous times and is a previous Convenor of the Australian Young Greens.

Ken McAlpine

Ken is a union worker who has played a very active role in the Greens for many years. He is currently Convenor of the AGV education, planning and internal communications committee, regional state councillor and Exec member.

Jim Buckell

Jim Buckell has worked as a journalist and editor for many years. Since joining the Greens in 2007 he has been involved in facilitation, training and campaigning in the Darebin branch and across the party. He completed the Groupwork Institute's one-year course in group facilitation in 2012.

Josephine Maguire-Rosier

Robin De Garis

Robin has been the Technology Manager with the Greens since July 2014. He has developed systems to support branches more effectively, and before he came to Victoria he lived in Perth, where he helped Scott Ludlam get re-elected in early 2014.

Matt Thomas

Matt was the SE Metro Party Builder for the 2014 State Election. When he's not working for Nina Springle MP, he's an active volunteer in the party, building the capacity of teams across the region.

Linda Gale

Linda is State Councillor for the Melbourne Branch and one of the State Returning Officers.  She has been a member of State Executive and the Disputes Panel.  She was a delegate to the 2014 National Conference where she played a key role on the Constitutional drafting committee. In her day job she is a Senior Industrial Officer with the National Tertiary Education Union.

Loretta Agius

Loretta was the Eastern Metro Party Builder for the 2014 state election. When she's not working for Samantha Dunn MP, she's an active volunteer in the party, building teams across the region and helping her local branch re-launch.

Lucy Rucinska-Stanek

Lucy started her journey with the Australian Greens Victoria as the Party Accountant in 2013 diving directly into the Federal Election. Now as Operations Manager, Lucy not only focuses on the finances of the Vic Greens, but the full operations of the team at State Office to ensure our members and office bearers are continuously supported. Lucy offers a magnitude of experience in building financial capacity, from assisting individuals to understand their superannuation and retirement options, to financial reporting and building financial literacy programs in the Pacific.

Naomi Blackburn

Naomi is Head of Campaigns at the Victorian Greens, responsible for managing the upcoming federal and local election campaigns. With a background in facilitation, activist education and data management, Naomi had spent the last few years as founder and director of data-driven campaigning consultancy Power in Numbers interspersed with roles as Campaign Manager for the State Richmond campaign in 2014, and Data Coordinator for Adam Bandt in 2013.
