gVIRS Training - Preparing for Phone Number Matching and Voter Contact

This training is designed to train nominated Data Coordinators in campaigns that want to make constituent calls in gVIRS or conduct voter conduct using Spoke in this local government campaign.

GVIRS is a Greens system that holds electoral roll data and matched phone numbers allowing them to be used for constituent calling and exported for use in Spoke. Training is required to use gVIRS and initially campaigns will need to be able to determine whether they need to buy new numbers to meet their constituent calling needs or whether there are sufficient numbers already in gVIRS.

Spoke is a SMS conversation tool that is used for large scale voter contact through messaging. This training will not teach the use of Spoke but will go over how to make a matching segment in gVIRS that can be used to match phone numbers which can be used in Spoke.

This training will cover gVIRS tasks including:

  • Creating voter segments,
  • Using search criteria and search tress to add voters to a voter segment,
  • Determining the number of numbers in a specific area,
  • Twilio webphone basics and making calls using gVIRS,
  • The process of buying numbers and charging for Twilio subaccount use.

The training will be run online, nominated Data coordinators should RSVP so the meeting code can be sent to them on the day of the session.

The phone number matching and Twilio prepaid calling times orders are due by COB on Monday the 31st of August. The phone number matching order form can be found here. The Twilio prepaid calling time order form can be found here.

The Spoke order form can be found here (not due by the 31st, but submit at least one week before planned texting events).

Hope to see you there!
