Victorians are rightly appalled that LGBTI students are not protected from discrimination.
And even more so that Labor and Liberal joined together to block the Greens attempt to abolish the law that gives religious schools the right to discriminate.
Dan Andrews still hasn’t committed to changing his opposition to this reform. The Greens will make it a priority in the new parliament.
The Greens’ Rainbow State Action Plan will make sure Victoria is a state for everyone. No exceptions.
Along with protecting students from discrimination, our Rainbow State Action Plan will:
- Protect for teachers, staff and services users at faith based schools and organisations;
- Crackdown on conversion therapy and hold a parliamentary inquiry into the ex-gay movement;
- Develop a state-wide LGBTI homelessness strategy; and
- Protect the Safe Schools Programs from being abolished by the Liberal Party.
