Join us in a panel discussion about the intersections of racism and coronavirus ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽
The pandemic has forced us into lockdown to curb the spread of the virus. And while a necessary measure, this lockdown has had devastating economic and social effects on everyone.
But among the most disproportionately affected are people of colour, particularly migrants ranging from workers to international students.
The panel will discuss how systemic racism manifests in the pandemic and what we can do about it at all levels of government and will consist of:
✅ Apsara Sabaratnam, Greens Melbourne Lord Mayor Candidate
✅ Senator Janet Rice, Greens Multiculturalism Spokesperson
✅ Wei-ting Syu, Taiwan Working Holiday Youths Organiser
✅ Srishti Chatterjee, International Student & UMSU Disability Office
The Multicultural Greens Victoria acknowledges the ongoing subjugation of First Nations people in Australia, that the land is stolen, sovereignty never ceded and pays respects to elders past and present.
