Oakleigh/Ashwood Afternoon of Action!

Pop on over to Oakleigh for an afternoon of campaigning for Hsiang and Peter and help Kat Copsey take back a Southern Metro seat for the Greens!

We'll be meeting in Oakleigh and splitting into teams from there to tackle some letterboxing, hit the streets to chat to voters and recruit volunteers via a calling party. Whatever your style of campaigning is, we'll have a role for you!

Snacks will be provided throughout the day and at roughly 6pm everyone can (optionally) head back to base camp for a social drink + snacks to unwind! Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

WHAT'S INVOLVED?

On-the-ground activities might include:

• Walking door-to-door to drop Greens flyers in letterboxes;
• Hanging out in public areas to chat to voters about voting Greens, and handing out flyers;
• Chatting to local businesses about hosting placards featuring Hsiang or Peter in their shopfronts, and;
• Carpooling or PTV-ing to different areas in the Districts of Ashwood and Oakleigh to do the above.

A calling party involves:

• Ringing up potential Greens volunteers (members and non-members) and following a checklist to see how they might be able to help out with our campaigns;
• Noting down the key details of your interactions with people in our systems, including rostering for pre-poll and polling day volunteers (don't worry, there'll be instructions), and;
• (Hopefully) having genuine and interesting conversations with fellow fans of avoiding climate catastrophe!
