Port Phillip Campaign Kick Off with Dolly Diamond

Kick off your heels and frock up with us on the last Friday night of this month with Dolly Diamond as we kick off our 2020 Port Phillip Greens local government election campaign 👠

In 2016 we elected three Greens Councillors to the City of Port Phillip and we have had some HUGE wins including the development of 100% renewable energy and participation in the Melbourne Renewable Energy Project, returning the second highest YES vote in Victoria for Marriage. Equality and starting the construction of Victoria's home for LBQTIQ+ pride and culture, the Pride Centre on Fitzroy St. St Kilda. We declared a Climate Emergency this year and Councillors are currently working on a Live Music Action Plan to support local music and keep events like the St Kilda Festival alive and thriving.

As we prepare a peoples response to coronavirus (COVID-19) and climate change we need to ensure Greens policies are at the heart of our social and economic plans moving forward. It's more important than ever to keep Port Phillip Green!

Our special guest for the night will be the fabulous Dolly Diamond. Dolly is a local Port Phillip icon and has made her mark on our city featuring in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Midsumma Festival and hosts her very own radio show on JOY94.9 FM 'To Hell in a Handbasket' where she's interviewed many Australian celebrities including our very own Leader of the Australia Greens and MP for Melbourne, Adam Bandt.

You'll hear from our candidates, Councillors and other special guests (to be announced) launch our local government policy platform and explain the huge people-powered movement we'll need to build in order to retain three Councillors in Gateway, Lake and Canal Wards this election.

There will be an opportunity to donate and supercharge our campaign — with just over 100 days until early voting opens we'll be asking you to open your wallets to help us get over the line.

If you're lucky there might even be a special performance from Dolly Diamond herself 😉

RSVP to receive a link for the Zoom invitation and join us from the comfort of your own home.

We acknowledge that any events in Port Phillip take place on the land of the Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation, that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
