Eight days before last year's election, Labor promised to spend $1.5 million planning an “iconic multi-day hiking trail” in East Gippsland – a 120-km trail from the coast to alpine forests, meandering through Victoria's largest remaining unspoiled wilderness.

But now, instead of creating a world-class hike, the government's forestry company is clearfelling the area.

It is now clear that area is marked for multiple logging coupes, and deforestation along the proposed hiking route is beginning right now.

Can you sign our petition demanding that Labor stop logging this wilderness area before it's too late?
