How we win rights for renters

Paying too much in rent? Terrified of your rent getting bumped up too high, or worse, being kicked out and forced with the costs of finding a new place and moving? You’re not alone.

In Victoria, rents are rising 3 to 4 times faster than wages. People on income support struggle to find anywhere affordable to live. Many people are locked out of owning a home of their own. And while you’re renting, it can feel like you have no rights and little opportunity to make your house a home.

We're in a housing crisis but governments are refusing to act, taking donations from developers and giving tax cuts to billionaires.

But November’s Victorian State Election is our chance to show Labor and Liberal that cannot ignore renters any longer.

The Greens have a plan to deliver real rights for renters and build more affordable housing and we want you to hear about it.

Join our community forum with Federal Greens spokesperson for renters Max Chandler-Mather and Victorian Greens Leader and spokesperson for housing Samantha Ratnam, alongside Greens candidate for Richmond Gabrielle de Vietri. This is your chance to be part of our campaign to win in Richmond and win better rights for renters.
