Stonnington Greens: Futures Project Workshop

We're joining with the Bayside/Glen Eira Greens to have a workshop with the members of the Futures Steering Committee. This is your chance as a member to have a direct influence on the future of the Victorian Greens by coming to our branch's Futures Project Workshop.

What is the Futures Project?

The review of the 2018 state election recommended that the AGV conduct a wide-ranging and in-depth discussion about its key strategic and philosophical directions. It outlined key points for discussion and deliberation amongst members, including:

·What is our theory of change, that is, how do we best achieve social change;

·The role of local councillors and members of parliament and the party in the context of our theory of change and strategic vision.

·What should be our electoral goals and how do they align with our theory of change;

·Whether our organisational structures are best serving us now and into the future;

·How the culture of the party can be strengthened to achieve our aims; and

·How to involve our members more and engage more diverse members and supporters;

The overall aim of the Futures Project is a revitalised AGV, with improved organisational structures and coherent and complementary electoral and party strategies that guide our parliamentary / local councillor and non-parliamentary work.

The Project will be implemented through a series of member meetings held centrally, regionally and in secure online spaces; a program of engagement with branches and working groups; and will be supported with research and forums on various issues such as governance, membership, and campaigns.
