Women’s Network Annual Conference: Getting reading for council elections

Our Annual Conference will be held on Sunday 23 February from 10am – 4pm, and it’ll be the perfect opportunity for you to get involved. Whether you’re wanting to meet our federal, state or local Vic Green reps, or mingle with like-minded souls, here is your chance.

Our draft agenda is available by contacting the organiser.  Highlights include:

  • Presentation from Ellen Sandell MP for Melbourne and Deputy Leader of the Victorian Greens
  • Special guest speaker – Winsome McCaughey AO, second ever female Lord Mayor of Melbourne and former CEO of Greening Australia
  • What it’s like to be a ‘Greens government’ at local level: Darebin Councillors on the Climate Emergency and LGBTIQA+ advocacy
  • 12 lessons from 12 years - Victoria's longest serving female Greens Councillors reflections
  • Leadership program - workshop and planning session
  • Closing presentation from Samantha Ratnam, MP for Northern Metro and leader of the Victorian Greens

After the conference, we’ll also be socialising with our new-found feminist friends over a beverage or two and some snacks.

Accessibility: The Victorian Greens State Office is wheelchair accessible. We try to make our events as accessible as possible, but also need to know what accessible means for you.
Please contact [email protected] if you have any feedback on how we can run the most inclusive event possible for you.

The event will be taking place on the lands of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations. We wish to recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded and acknowledges Elders past, present and emerging.

Please note that, under Victoria's funding and disclosure laws, contributions through this page are not for a Commonwealth electoral purpose.

A portion (up to 100%) of any tickets you purchase will be counted towards your individual contribution cap for State Campaign purposes.

You should be aware of the tax implications and disclosure obligations that result from your contributions to the Australian Greens Victoria.”
