Desal Plant fact-finding; Wonthaggi lunch; wetlands and regeneration visit

Meet up at the Desal Plant for a tour. The plant has been strongly opposed by the Greens and the local community. It has been a massive investment that bypasses the need to consider more realistic – but politically fraught – options.

Some of our members have suggested it is worth visiting to get a better understanding of energy usage and environmental implications. This tour will be a fact-finding exercise, and anyone who is interested in coming is welcome to join us.

At this stage it is likely that a number of cars will be leaving Melbourne to arrive at the plant at 11am for an 11:15 meet-up.

You can also meet us later at  ‘Wolf on Murray’  - 1 Murray Street, Wonthaggi - for a nibble, and natter with some local Green.

After we'll head to a farm for a visit to a farm regeneration project, and to view wetlands.
