This year we can do something big and win Wills -- making history by electing our first ever Greens MP and sending someone to Parliament who will fight for us and our values. But it’s going to take all of us.
Come along to hear how you can help us win as we campaign on the big issues and fight to:
tackle rising economic inequality by raising Newstart and the minimum wage and making big companies and the rich pay their fair share of tax;
provide everyone access to world class education by fully funding our public schools and making undergrad uni and TAFE free;
ensure a home for all by building new public and affordable housing, capping rent increases, giving renters rights and ending unfair tax breaks that benefit investors;
fight dangerous climate change by stopping Adani and all new coal mines and rapidly transitioning from fossil fuels to renewables;
❌ close the camps on Manus and Nauru and create a compassionate refugee policy;
️ ensure justice and equality for everyone, championing every single member of our community and fighting racism, Islamophobia, anti-semitism, misogyny and homo & transphobia;
clean up politics by banning corporate donations and creating a Federal anti-corruption watchdog; and
and fight to protect what we love about Wills and fight for our local schools, more trams, trains and bike paths and appropriate development for our suburbs.
Last year we made history and elected Tim Read in Brunswick to the Victorian Parliament. Join us and together we can do it again in Wills.
A note on accessibility: This location is wheelchair accessible and we welcome volunteers of all abilities, diversity of genders, sexual identities, racial backgrounds, cultures, languages and experiences to join and get involved. Our Campaign Office is right near to the Lygon St tram stops for the 1 and 6 lines.
We acknowledge that this event takes place on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, that sovereignty was never ceded and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
